Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg has followed the example of Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos after he managed to drop the Eredivisie trophy from the top of a bus.
Ramos dropped Spain's Copa del Rey trophy, which was crushed beneath the team's bus, last month and now Stekelenburg (usually a safe pair of hands) has followed suit. The Dutchman looks set to leave the club in the summer, with Manchester United keen on his signature, but had one final impact on the club.
Amateur video taken on Sunday shows the trophy fall backward off the bus, apparently after colliding with overhead tram wires. It was handed back by a fan, to the applause of onlookers.
Ajax sealed their 30th league championship with a 3-1 win over Twente on Sunday.
